surreal
i feel a spider crawling up my
neck, i shudder, look,
nothing’s there.
i call for you, but you’re not anywhere.
i let sunlight slip between my
fingers, it turns to
ocean, salt stings my wounds.
the embers cool.
i see us aging backwards,
we are thirteen,
we don’t know each other yet.
we are all strangers here.
i see your face, you seem to
care, but then it just disintegrates,
becomes air.
i call for you, but you’re not anywhere.
