your warmth
your safety
i never wanted harsh heat and stinging guilt
i wanted to be with you and talk and laugh
to hold you close
i wanted to live off your beauty
to drink from the same lemonade glass
i didn’t want us to venture beyond that.
i have distaste for dark now,
for any breathing heavy awkward moment

it can be light and warm and soft

curled up with cups of cocoa
